PAIA Manual

Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act 2 of 2000) · Section 51

1. About the body

Sunday Run Club ("SRC") is an informal, unincorporated running community. It is treated as a "private body" for the purposes of PAIA.

  • Head of the body / Information Officer: Sheldon Vorster
  • Postal address: Hazelwood, Pretoria, South Africa
  • Email: info@sundayrunclub.co.za
  • Website: sundayrunclub.co.za

2. Guide on how to use PAIA

The Information Regulator publishes a guide on how to use PAIA in terms of section 10. It is available at inforegulator.org.za or on request from the Regulator.

3. Records held by SRC

The following categories of records are held:

  • Member profile information (name, email, phone, optional bio).
  • Event signups and attendance records.
  • Personal running stats voluntarily logged by members.
  • Email communication logs.
  • Merchandise orders (held by our store partner).

4. Records automatically available

Information published on the SRC website (event listings, public gallery, shop) is freely available and does not require a PAIA request.

5. How to request access to other records

Requests must be made on Form 2 of the PAIA Regulations and emailed to info@sundayrunclub.co.za. The form is available from the Information Regulator's website.

We will respond within 30 days. We may refuse a request on grounds listed in Chapter 4 of PAIA, including protection of the privacy of third parties, commercial information, or where the request is manifestly frivolous.

6. Fees

PAIA prescribes a request fee and an access fee. As an informal community we do not currently charge these, but we reserve the right to recover reasonable costs for voluminous requests in line with the PAIA Regulations.

7. Personal information processing

Details of how SRC processes personal information are set out in our Privacy Policy.

8. Complaints

You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
